Etna

I'm thinking of going up Etna tomorrow, which is why I had to check the bus times. I am worried that the top might be misty and worse still raining. As we flew past on the way in the top was completely covered in cloud. This is a webcam photo earlier today so I'll check it again before I set of in the morning.

Immigrants

I've walked up to the port to check the bus times for tomorrow and there are a lot of very nice looking, well behaved Africans hanging about. I presume they are those boat people that we hear about. They must be getting clothing handouts because they are all dressed in a mixture of new but very unfashionable clothes, like they might be the clothes left over after the final, final sale at SportsDirect.

Baroque architecture

At least I presume it is baroque. There is certainly a lot of it. I am not sufficiently well educated to be sure.

The B&B and my room

I'm on the second floor second balcony from the right. Funny coincidence that there is a La Dolce Vita poster on the wall.

I'm in Catania and this is the symbol of the city. Carved from lava with an Egyptian obelisk stuck on it's back.

Lunch

Pasta Norma. Eggplant, ricotta and salata. That's what it says on the menu. I presume that salata is the tomato sludge. And very nice it was too.
